For employees of companies located in areas where, according to the latest forecast data of the National Meteorological Service (EMY), particularly high temperatures and discomfort levels (WBGT) are expected to In Attica (excluding islands), in Thrace, in the Region of Central Macedonia in the Regional Units of Trikala, Larissa, Heraklion, and Lasithi, and on the islands of Lesbos, Chios, Samos, and Rhodes, a mandatory work stoppage will be in effect on Monday, July 28, 2025, during the period from 14:00 to 17:00. , in manual work performed outdoors, such as work on technical and construction projects, construction sites, ship repair zones, distribution and transport of products and objects with two-wheeled vehicle, skateboard, roller skates (delivery), etc.
It is noted that the above cases of mandatory cessation of work include all employees regardless of their type of employment, including digital platforms of article 68 of law 4808/2021.
In the event that the measure of cessation of distribution operations for delivery businesses is implemented, this concerns all businesses that carry out delivery, whether they maintain a physical store or a digital platform, however, the option of ordering with the user receiving it directly from the store/pick-up point (takeaway) may be maintained active, as well as the possible possibility of executing the order with private and public vehicles, except for all types of two-wheelers and mopeds, as defined in the provisions of the Road Traffic Code, provided that they have air conditioning.
In case of failure to comply with the obligations herein, the Labor Inspectorate shall impose, in accordance with articles 23 and 24 of Law 3996/2011 (A’ 170), a fine of two thousand (2,000) euros per employee of the business.
Therefore, there may be deviations from the usual handling and delivery times of shipments in these areas.
